Professor Demitri Urien strolled into the dungeon that was designated as the Potions Classroom. He dropped a large book onto the desk, which echoed off the stone walls. “Welcome to your first potions lesson. Potions making is a very precise form of magic. The smallest mistake can lead to death. Each and every one of you need to pay attention at all times. Games will not be tolerated in this class. I will never waste my time with roll call. If you don't find potions important enough to go to the classes, then so be it. I don't care. If you don't want to do well on your exams, then that is your problem. Don't come crying to me. Today we will be making an Ageing Potion and a Shrinking Solution.”

He pull his wand out of his robe and waved it over the black board.

Ageing Potion: A potion that causes the drinker to age.

Horned Toad Bowel
Cut Ginger Root
1 Table Spoon of Armadillo Bile
5 Sprigs of Fluxweed
Pinch of Black Beetle Eyes
2 Scoops Erumpent Horn
Jobberknoll feathers
Stir clockwise for 15 minutes


Shrinking Solution: A potion that causes the drinker to decrease in size and apparent age.

Minced Daisy Roots
Peeled Shrivelfig
Sliced Caterpillars
One Rat Spleen
A Dash of Leech Juice
Leave to simmer for 15 minutes

Urien looked out at the class and sighed before pulling a flask out of his robes and taking a swig before saying, "Pair up. One of you will make the Ageing Potion, the other will make the Shrinking Solution. When you are done, fill two flasks of the potion you have made." He waved a hand lazily in the air, "Get started!" Urien then plopped down in a large cushy chair that sat behind his desk and turned away from the classroom so that he could drink his liquor while waiting for the students to make their potions.
