| Roslin looked at the mouse as well and followed it's progress until it was out of sight. "Yeah, what you had said just sounded so recent. I pictured a group of people for some reason, but at the same time I couldn't imagine you being a part of a group outside of the little one we used to have. But of course it has been a long time, just doesn't seem like it," He said in an unusually thoughtful way.
"Time is so different to me now. I did spend most of our time apart in a deep sleep after all. Seemed like the world had changed over night," he sighed and gazed around the room, mostly trying to seem indifferent, but failing miserably. He wondered what sort of people they were and how they ended up dead. Was it the way many of his disposable companions had gone? There were a countless amount that Roslin had just grown tired of and decided to feed on.

| Kat laughed shortly, a mere breath of laughter. “I think after the first fifty years or so people stopped wanting to work that closely with me. They did try integrating me at first but you know how much I can stomach people who are so eager to interfere.” She thought about it for a moment and smiled a little wider. “They all pitied the lone little girl.” She listened to the sigh and watched him when he looked around the room. “Does time really have any kind of meaning for us?” | |

| Roslin thought about it for a long moment, but couldn't really decide at first. Everything had been so vastly different when he woke that he was in shock for quite some time. He did recover of course and once he did, he didn't let his past bother him in the slightest. That was until he had heard that Hogwarts was being re-established and came to find that some old friends and his sister had returned. Really, it was almost as if nothing had changed except that his father wasn't alive to humiliate him. "I suppose not. Not when we have all the time in the world." | |

| Roslin looked way too serious when he thought about what Katherine had said and she regretted speaking so freely, but it had always been that way when she was around Roslin. She'd never had to fear that he would react negatively or in any way permanently negative towards her because of something she'd said. "How come you slept?" | |

| Roslin tried to smile, but it ended up being more of a grimace. "Edolie nearly....well, killed me..." He hated to admit what he was about to say next, but there really was no way around it. "I fled until I found a place that seemed to be safe. Fed on rodents for a while and then just...slept and then woke up around three hundred years later. The damage she did was immense, but I also hadn't been a vampire for very long. I woke up much stronger than I was when she attacked me." Talking about it all again was another kick to Roslin's ego, but he was talking to Katherine. It was just different with her. | |

| If Katherine hdd been talking with anyone besides Roslin she most likely would have sneered at the mention of his diet, but with him it wasn't something vile - with him she could imagine herself in his place, she could imagine the pair of them living this way. Though the information he was giving her wasn't exactly roses and sunshine news she felt some strange sense of exhilaration that she was getting to know more. Also, she could almost imagine herself at his side during all this...
If he had asked it of her before she'd disappeared, if she'd thought he would indeed take her offer of immortality at the time she would have given it freely and she never would have left his side. Roslin was the kind of person you could spend eternity with and not get bored or annoyed. The strong type that didn't let anything push him down - or rather, he didn't let things push him down the way those same things would push others down. Even his melancholy was different. It was all this that made up some of why she'd always been drawn to him.
She realized her curiosity was burning in her eyes and she tried to subdue her excess emotions. She bit her lip lightly, feeling the extra pressure from her fangs. "I'm sorry I left." She paused as if waiting for an answer and then added, "Things would've worked out wholly different if..." She couldn't finish the sentence, it felt too engulfing, she wasn't sure how but she just felt certain that she would've been able to affect the outcome of certain things if she hadn't just taken off.

| The apology and the partial proclamation from Katherine was unnerving, but Roslin managed to just shrug. “Doesn’t matter,” he stated gruffly as he ran a hand through his hair. “You’re here now…things should get interesting.” He grinned at her and stood. His head was spinning in the way that it always did when he had too much to think about. He stared out the nearest window through a crack between the boards that obscured most of the view. “This is…strange,” he said slowly, “strange and wonderful.” He looked back at Katherine and smiled widely. “You’re back. We’re back.” | |

| Katherine couldn’t help but smile at Roslin. She found herself staring, once again, at the young man who she’d first connected with and not the vampire. And everything of moments before seemed like a distant memory. “Strange and wonderful…” She echoed, still smiling and moved to where he stood. “Let’s get to the castle then and start this new adventure.” She held out her hand to him, happy again at the thought of the two of them running together, as equals. “I want to go through the forest on the way back.” | |

| The offering of a hand from Katherine, Roslin always knew, was something special. She didn't do that for just anyone. "A stroll through the forest would be quite lovely," Roslin said with a playfully pompous voice. Seriousness settled over him and he took Katherine's hand in his. The cold flesh against cold flesh felt so very right. A gentle smile curved his lips. One of those very private smiles, but one that he didn't mind Katherine seeing. | |

| Katherine led Roslin to the door of the dusty house and pulled open the door before leaving. She didn't bother looking back, those walls would most likely see her again soon enough. She could smell the faint scent of James still lingering around the door to the house and she quickly scanned the area. She sensed him not far off, he'd most likely follow them to the gates of Hogwarts if she let him and she didn't stop him when they moved on.
She looked back at Roslin and flashed him a sly smile. "Let's go." Her hand slipped out of his and she started running, the wind rushing through her hair and over the little bit of skin that was exposed caused a tingling sensation to run over her entire body. She didn't slow when she reached out her hand again for Roslin.

| Roslin stood for a moment and grinned after Katherine before dashing after her. He quickly caught up and grasped her hand again. He had never ran with anyone like this before. It was exhilarating and he couldn't help but think that part of that was because of who he was running with. The trees flashed past, a blur of brown and the wind, that their own movement caused, roared in his ears in a pleasant way, but his vampiric hearing allowed him to still catch the sounds of the forest. He wasn't really one for romantic moments, but he had no choice but to consider that one. | |

| Roslin's hand met hers and Katherine smiled happily, she couldn't remember the last time she'd felt such exhilaration. A burst of laugher broke out of her - she ran while laughing, wishing she didn't have to say goodbye again. No matter her strength or how well set her body was for this version of immortality she wasn't sure she would be able to save anything of herself if another goodbye loomed. She held tight to Roslin's hand and her laughter ran from her like some ghostly whisper, uncatchable in their speed. All too soon she saw the feint lights of the castle and changed their course toward the black lake.
She pushed forward and at the last minute released Roslin's hand only to jump high into the air and dive straight into the black lake. As always happened she wished she could feel the cold of the water, she remembered it as a cold that caused aches in her hands, now it was nothing to her and she swam downward without worrying about anything that might've taken up residence in the lake.
Katherine spotted the discoloured section of rock on the far side bank that sat too far down in the water for mortals to reach without aid and sped through the water. When she reached the spot she pushed against it and the wall seemed to sink and pull back into the bank only to slid open and reveal a small passage that you couldn't stretch out in. It was as small as she remembered and she pushed forward, knowing they would reach their common room in no time.

| Roslin dove in the Black Lake after Katherine, quite content with the fact that the cold didn't bite him life it would have if he were mortal. He had never swam in the lake as a vampire and had no idea where Katherine was taking him, but he didn't question it for a second. The underwater world was strange, alien, and everything seemed to have a greenish tinge there. He vaguely wondered about the mermaids that had inhabited the lake last time he had attended Hogwarts, but did not see any.
He followed Katherine into the passage that she had opened while he tried to memorize where it was for future use. He supposed that it might take them to the dungeons, but, when it comes to Hogwarts, you can never be sure.

| There was no way to look back now, the tunnel was way too narrow for a move like that – she didn’t have to look back though, she knew Roslin was behind her. She saw the light change just when the lack of air started becoming uncomfortable and she knew the other side of the tunnel was near. Of course she hadn’t been in the tunnel for hundreds of years but not much had changed so far, there couldn’t really be any possibility that any other part of the tunnel had changed.
She was right, not 5 feet from her she saw the tell tale signs of air, small bubbles made the surface of the water look like mercury from underneath and she broke the surface seconds later, dragging in one long, deep breath before pulling herself out of the water and onto a small ledge. This air pocket was the end of the tunnel – from the air pocket one could get into the Slytherin common room using a secret passage way. She waited for Roslin before making any move to leave the air pocket behind, this would be their last few moments of silence.

| Without the slightest bit of hesitation, Roslin swam after Katherine through the narrow tunnel. The fit was almost uncomfortable for him and there were places where he had to squeeze through. He broke the surface after seeing Katherine vanish from the water and playfully shook out his hair as he took a deep breath. His curls, although soaked, bounced back. Ros pulled himself up onto the ledge beside Katherine and grinned at her.
“Nice short cut, doll,” he said as he leaned against the slimy walls of the air cavity.

| Katherine smiled down at Roslin when he surfaced and though she knew he was vampire now she still found it haunting that he really was one of her now… He could do what she could do, they were equal. She wanted to curl up in his arms… Her mind blanched and she berated herself silently for such thoughts. She wasn’t prone to romantic images and dreams, she had been such only briefly in her entire existence. It seemed the discovery of Roslin’s survival through the ages was playing some tricks on her.
She shook herself mentally as Roslin pulled himself out of the water and smirked in response to his grin. “Yeah, you’d think someone would have gotten rid of that by now.” She said, indicating the tunnel. “Luckily we could take a chance that was rewarded.” Rewarded, they were about to go their separate ways, again… that wasn’t reward. Her smirk didn’t falter and she moved just slightly to her right to push against the roughened wall of the air pocket. Stone ground against stone in a sickeningly loud echo and the doorway to the hidden passage opened between her and Roslin.

| Roslin peered into the passageway and, for lack of knowing it's secrets, gestured to Katherine, "Ladies first." He hated to be that sort in situations of the unknown, but knew that Kat was a very capable creature. Besides, he highly doubted that she would be too privy to him coddling her. | |
